Trying 62: Puppies..!

Brushing aside the problem you might have with the boys you dash over to Robin's car and hop into the back seat. Law follows after you, sighing at your sudden enthusiasm. Robin chuckles and gets into the drivers side, laughing softly at the both of you.

You were practically in his lap with a huge grin on your face, Law just kept sighing, but couldn't help bit smile slightly at how happy you were suddenly.
“So...did you look up placed for dogs or did you spend the whole night staring at him?” Robin asks as she pulls out onto the street. You blush a bit and move to the other side of the car behind Robin and grin at her when she looks in the rear view mirror.

“Yes! I got a few places where we can find each dog at...” You said, pulling out the notebook you brought with you and hand it to her on the page with the addresses.
“Okay we'll go out and work our way back in, that way it will be a short drive to get back to the house...” She says while pulling onto one of the main roads.
“Hopefully it will be before the boys get home...” You said absently as you stared out the window.

The first place was an owner of a large Husky, when you got there she had a small fenced off area where a bunch of little puppies were running around. You aww'd at all of them and had to resist the urge to scoop them all up and take them home.

When you talked to the woman she had explained in extreme detail how to care for this particular breed, about halfway through the explanation you were lost, one glance at Law though showed he was keeping up with the woman, glad someone was...

After spending an hour with the woman and the pups she let you pick one out, and you looked between all of them, unsure if you could ever choose which one would be best. But then you noticed the smallest one, it looked like a typical husky with bright blue eyes, but it was obviously the runt of the pack. So you picked this one, you'd let Luffy name him when he came home.

You also bought some dog treats and toys from the woman and then it was off onto the next place.

The next place also had Husky's but you had already gotten one so you ended up leaving, not able to find any of the other dogs. In the next place though you had a bit more luck.

You found a litter of retriever at the next location, all of them with bright golden fur, it reminded you of Sabo's hair and absently you wondered if that played into why he'd want one...

You picked out one that's fur was brighter than the others, leaning more towards a pale gold. This one was a female, you wondered if that would be okay for Sabo....she has grassy green eyes and her hair curls a bit. She licks your face happily as Robin drives on to the next place, Law holds the hyper Husky as he tries to sniff everything.

The next few places didn't have a German Shepherd and you were starting to feel hungry, it was around one in the afternoon now.
“Uh oh...” You muttered, staring at the time on the dashboard.
“Ah...they get home in an hour and a half...” Robin says, turning into the driveway of the next place.
“Fingers crossed guys...” You mutter, putting the two puppies on their leashes you hand them to Law, who stares at them with a frown on his face.

“I know I know, a polar bear..” You said with a slight smirk, he glares at you and says nothing as you walk up to the front door. A man that smells heavily of beer answers the door and glares at Law, but smiles at you and Robin.

“Hello ma'am how can I help you?” He says with a big smile, a few teeth were missing and some teeth looked black. You smiled politely and mentioned the dogs this man was selling, probably.
“Ah your here for a mutt? Alright come in.” He says with a shrug, walking in he leads you to a back room that was sweltering hot that it almost made you stumble back, the room stank of sweat and dirty animals.

“I only have two left...One's a German Shepherd and the other is this cross breed, a uh Gerberian Shepsky I think this lady said...” He explains and you see a bunch of kennels stacked in the room, all of them were open but one.
“They're in here...” He says walking to a small kennel, you peek in and gasp, the poor things were crammed into the small space. Not to mention the room was so hot you were already sweating.

“How much?” You asked without even a second thought. You didn't even hear a sigh if disapproval, guess even they don't agree to the way these puppies were being treated. The man names his price and you quickly hand him the cash, he offers to give you the kennel but you quickly decline and pull the puppies out the small space. They didn't fight you but the Shepherd did growl at you weakly. You didn't stay any longer after that, quickly returning home afterwards.

You did make one quick stop, getting collars and more leashes for the dogs, a few food bowls, a large supply of dog food, a few extra toys and treats.

When you got home you gave them a little bit of food, and you noticed the Shepherd and the Shepsky drank a large amount of water.
“Poor things...” You said softly, petting them, the Shepherd growls a bit but after a little while he seems to warm up to you. The Shepsky sniffs your hand warily and lets out a high bark.
“She's so cute...!” You said, petting the Shepsky on the head.

“(Naaaaaaame) We're hooooooome!!” You hear Luffy scream as he walks in, the other two right behind them. All three freeze and their eyes get very wide.
“Puppies..!!!” Luffy cheers loudly with a huge smile on his face.

All the puppies ran up to the boys, jumping on them and sniffing them, Luffy giggles when one licks his ear.
“Hey that tickles..!” He laughs as Ace hugs the Shepherd puppy, it growls a bit, surprising the boy. You quickly explain to him that his last owner was bad so he needed to be gentle with the puppy until it was use to him. Ace pats the puppy's head as it sniffs him, licking his nose.

You step back and let the boys play with the puppies and Law walks over and wraps his arm around your waist, immediately all three boys, when they notice, stare at him intently. Robin chuckles and you let out a tense laugh.
“What's wrong?” You ask them and Luffy points at Law.
“Why's he holding you like that?” He asks and Ace glares at Law while Sabo sighs.

“Cause she's mine.” Law says smoothly and you nudge him. Suddenly two of the boys catch fire and the puppies run away, startled. Luffy looks a bit confused and Robins trying her best not to laugh. Your eyes widen a bit and Law just smirks.
“To hell she is..!” Ace growls and Luffy tilts his head confused.
“How is she yours, (Name) isn't a toy!” Luffy says, a pout on his face. The puppies stare at the two boys who were on fire and barks at them. Sabo's fire goes out but he doesn't stop glaring at Law, the puppies walk up to him and sniff him.

Why did this boy catch fire? They seemed to wonder.

“Aw...scared I'll take away your Mommy?” Law teases and you glare at him.
“Stop that...” You said sternly and you walked away from Law and over to the boys.
“Me and Law use to date, and now we are again.” You explained bluntly.

Sabo huffs and crosses his arms, Luffy on the other hand grins and runs over to Law.
“Reeeaaaaaalllllyyyyyyy?” He asks, his eyes sparkling, the puppies follow the rubber boy and bark at him and then sniff Law.
Ace glare at Law then at you but he says nothing, his fire goes out slowly.

“Ace...” You start but he brushes past you and up the steps.
“Ace..!” You call after him as he storms up the steps, a few of the puppies follow after him. Sabo shortly follows after Ace, avoiding your gaze as he walks past you.
“Sabo not you too...” You whine slightly, glaring at a chuckling Robin and a very smug Law.

“Shut up the both of you...” You sigh before following the two up the steps.
